Job Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent preferred
- ability to read and write legibly
- ability to speak and comprehend English
- normal or corrected vision and hearing
- ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
- ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs
- ability to stand and walk extensively
- ability to work variable shifts
- physical capability to perform medium work including bending, lifting, and grasping

Job Duties
- Request and conserve food and supplies necessary to perform assigned duties
- assist in the preparation of simple food products according to standardized recipes, policies, and procedures
- operate food service equipment such as choppers, blenders, and dish-machines
- portion food and assemble meals following menus and customer requests
- serve food trays or items to patients and customers
- clean food service areas, equipment, and utensils as scheduled
- maintain temperature, production, cleaning, and other records as required
- transport and retrieve patient food carts as needed
- adhere to sanitation, ServSafe, and safety requirements
- utilize daily production worksheets and waste logs
- taste completed meals for quality assurance
- perform clerical duties related to diet orders, menus, and food records
- work variable shifts as assigned
- comply with DCH Health System and Nutritional Services policies and procedures
- maintain patient, employee satisfaction, and performance standards as outlined.
