Job Requirements
- Obtain a food handling permit within the first 14 days of employment
- understand and comply with all health regulations and safety procedures
- demonstrate physical ability to lift up to 10 lbs, stand and walk for long periods, bend and squat as needed
- work in cold conditions in coolers and freezers
- maintain a courteous and professional demeanor
- complete ongoing required training
- able to operate and maintain small demo appliances
- capable of pushing and pulling demo carts up to 10 lbs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- basic math and reading abilities
- ability to complete ongoing training and development
- familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
- customer service experience or skills
- ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers and co-workers in a courteous manner
- prepare food for sampling and selling
- be familiar with the items you are sampling or selling to accurately and courteously answer customer questions
- know where products are located and the recipe or ingredients of the sampled or sold items
- make decisions on product display to ensure visual appeal
- unload or load carts
- operate and maintain small appliances for demos or selling
- transport products from coolers, freezers, or shelves to demo or food selling stations
- keep demo and food selling stations clean and free of clutter
- always wear sanitary gloves when sampling or selling product
- heat products to correct temperatures to avoid safety hazards
- know and implement the Cosentino Customer Service Standards
- understand and comply with all health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures
- assure personal and customer safety by following store safety rules
- demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills for positive interactions
- demonstrate basic math and reading skills required for the position
- promote sales by engaging customers, offering samples, and suggesting additional products
- support the company by completing additional tasks as assigned and assisting other departments when needed
