Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or currently enrolled in high school
- Minimum of 1 year previous food handling experience preferred
- Completion of Food Service Handler training within 3 months of hire
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
- Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays, nights and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds safely
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work in environments with temperature extremes
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and use kitchen equipment safely
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time effectively
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Complete all duties listed on the job routine
- Work in Patient, Retail, and Catering areas
- Perform sanitation duties
- Determine if perishable items are spoiled and remove them
- Clean, maintain and stock assigned areas
- Prepare, expedite, deliver and retrieve patient trays
- Prepare and deliver nourishments and floor stock
- Assist with patient food orders
- Serve cafeteria customers
- Handle point of sale transactions
- Wipe tables and restock service stations
- Prepare specialty beverages
- Work in dish room and pot and pan areas
- Assist with catering orders and event setups
- Maintain cleanliness of department and heavy-duty equipment
- Follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Practice clean as you go
- Use chemicals according to guidelines
- Use correct body mechanics
- Follow food handling regulations
- Attend departmental meetings and training
- Participate in performance improvement programs
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines
