Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift boxes up to 50 pounds
- Physical stamina to reach high shelves, bend to low shelves, and stand for extended periods
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment
- Required health department and DPI certifications
- Demonstrated competence or aptitude for the role
- Compliance with additional qualifications as deemed appropriate by the board

- Be able to lift boxes up to 50 pounds, reach up to high shelves, bend to low shelves, stand for extended period of time, and operate existing equipment
- Meet required Health Dept. and DPI certifications for this position
- Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable
Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner
- Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality about students as is expected of teachers
- Maintain positive relationships with school staff, students, and parents
- Present a positive image of the school to the public
- Follow all regulations pertaining to sanitation in kitchens, dress of cooks, safety, and techniques in handling food shall be the same as those set up by the State for cafes and restaurants as directed by the head cook
- Assume responsibility for seeing that during meal service periods the supply of food offered is replenished regularly
- Assist in the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment, and the washing and sterilizing of all dishes, silverware, utensils, and service areas
- Perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the head cook
- Assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods
