Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous food service experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Willingness to work scheduled hours during school lunch periods
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to follow directions and work under supervision
- Basic math skills for handling point of sale transactions

- Basic computer skills for operating point of sale system
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is an asset
Job Duties
- Prepares food for school lunch program in accordance with the menu, meal count and food production record
- Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter
- Assists in the major cleaning of kitchen areas, storeroom and equipment at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the supervisor
- Operates computer at point of sale
- Assists in preparation and serving of nutritious meals to customers
- Handles the point of sale operation for breakfast and lunch customer service lines
- Communicates promptly and works harmoniously with the Head Cook, FNS Staff, Students and District Staff
