Job Requirements

  • At least six months of experience serving in the food and beverage industry
  • Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages to guests
  • Ability to effectively interact with guests and fellow team members in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation practices
  • Comprehension of the English language both written and oral
  • Ability to stand and walk swiftly for long periods while carrying large service trays
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance and 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to work in environments that can be smoky, noisy, hot, cold, or humid
  • Work outdoors less than 25 percent of the time

Job Duties

  • Greeting and seating guests
  • Explaining the menu to guests and making recommendations
  • Taking food and beverage orders, noting any allergies guests may have, and accurately entering them into the ordering system
  • Communicating effectively with kitchen staff
  • Balancing dishes, drinks trays, and bringing them to the correct tables
  • Providing attentive service to guests by refilling drinks as needed
  • Providing excellent customer service to guests by checking in during meals
  • Performing duties such as setting tables, polishing glasses, folding napkins, and replenishing condiments as necessary
