Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training
- ability to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor
- valid San Diego County Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- RBS certification
- availability to work weekends and holidays
- physical ability to stand, kneel, squat for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- compliance with California labor laws and municipal codes
Job Qualifications
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training
- a combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement
- prior experience in a fine dining restaurant environment preferred
- ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges
- must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire
- RBS certification required
- availability to work on weekends and holidays is required
- ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs
- the position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq
Job Duties
- Cordially and professionally presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service
- employs suggestive selling techniques to stimulate sales
- actively observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed
- checks with the guest after 3-4 minutes after serving the meals, in order to ensure guest satisfaction
- follows cash and credit card handling policies at all times
- is responsible for entire section of tables (cleanliness, sanitation, organization, etc.)
- is responsible for complete knowledge of menus, including cooking time, ingredients, etc.
- performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team
