Job Requirements

High school graduate
two to four months food service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
valid driver's license
ability to operate food preparation equipment
ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds
must have current physical on file with the District Office certifying ability to meet job qualifications
ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
ability to work effectively in a kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

High school graduate
two to four months food service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
valid driver’s license
ability to operate various food preparation equipment including meat slicer, steam kettle, steamer, mixer, microwave, convection and conventional ovens, dishwasher, coffee pot, steam table
ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 50 pounds
current physical on file certifying ability to meet job qualifications
ability to comprehend and prepare documents related to food service operations

Job Duties

Prepares foods for meals
serves meals
monitors condiment tables, serving lines, etc.
cleans tables in cafeteria
orders supplies for dish room
puts away supplies
assists with end of year inventory
monitors dishwasher temperature
maintains log
fills in for cook and other food service personnel as required
restocks food and other items
follows safety and sanitation standards
cleans and sanitizes food preparation areas
washes dishes, pots and pans, utensils, counters, tables, sinks, equipment, coolers, etc.
puts away dishes, pots, pans, utensils
other duties as assigned by Director of School Nutrition Program
