Job Requirements

  • ServSafe Food Safety Certificate or Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Knowledge of food sanitation and safety procedures
  • Ability to work part-time with a 0.7 FTE schedule
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • ServSafe Food Safety Certificate or Food Handlers Card
  • High school or GED preferred
  • 1 year experience in cashier or food preparation preferred
  • 1 year experience in institutional food services preferred

Job Duties

  • Plan, produce and maintain food according to sanitation code and quality specifications following department processes and procedures
  • Serve food, retail sales, patient service and catering as required
  • Stock food deliveries
  • Enter food items into register, perform cash transactions and accurately separate opening cash amount from deposit
  • Interact with cafeteria customers, patients, families, visitors, hospital staff, co-workers and management with a positive attitude demonstrated by always taking initiative to smile, greet and offer assistance
  • Follow safe food techniques as described in the HACCP policy and procedure
  • Follow Kitchen Safety policy and procedures
  • Meet production and service deadlines and demonstrate flexibility with work routines to accommodate spontaneous work requests, schedule variations and fluctuations in patient and retail volumes
