Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant experience in food safety or quality assurance preferred
- Ability to work night shifts starting at 9 pm including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work on-site in San Francisco
- Ability to work in cold environments
- Ability to lift or push minimum 25 lbs
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-starter with problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and handle compliance issues
- Physical stamina to spend long periods walking on facility floor
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent food industry experience
- Experience or education in food science, nutrition science, chemistry, or microbiology preferred
- Proficiency in using computers and basic software such as Microsoft Office
- Ability to create and maintain trending charts and SOPs
- Experience with calculators, weight scales, thermometers, ATP testing equipment, mechanical food portioning and processing equipment
- Detail oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a liaison for supervisors
- Ability to lift and push at least 25 lbs
- Strong mathematical, analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environments with large groups
Job Duties
- Maintain and initiate all recordkeeping and key performance indicators pertinent to the Quality Department and food safety
- Daily monitor of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for compliance
- Verify cooler and freezer room temperatures for compliance
- Perform environmental swabs and microbiological sampling with lab submittal
- Obtain Chef Table samples to verify compliance to specifications
- Assist the Quality Manager in training and quality improvement initiatives
- Conduct work station inspections to verify compliance
- Conduct portion control weight compliance checks
- Conduct inspection checks on dispatch, galley, non-bonded, bonded, and equipment
- Verify Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) logs and documentation
- Create charts, trending reports, training materials and visuals
- Monitor and maintain standards related to Regulated Garbage Standards
- Oversee night sanitation work
- Train hourly employees as needed
- Perform other tasks as requested
- Spend 80% of time walking facility floor and handle compliance issues including weekends and holidays as needed
