Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or relevant experience of 3+ years in food science or food safety
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and email communication
  • Completed training in HACCP, SQF auditing systems, and FSMA
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays
  • Ability to work in cold and wet conditions
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods
  • Willingness to travel by automobile or air as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate bachelor’s degree in related field or at least 3+ years food science and/or food safety function
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Innovative and creative thinking
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office and common email systems
  • Completed training in HACCP, SQF auditing systems, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)

Job Duties

  • Maintain and administer the Food Safety and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program
  • Oversee, maintain, revise, ensuring compliance, and initiate continuous improvement for all food safety policies, procedures and programs including regulatory compliance, HACCP plan, food defense, pest control, crisis management, allergen control, recall and traceability, and supplier certification
  • Conduct general food safety and job-specific training
  • Ensure personal hygiene and compliance with corporate Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Maintain document control for all food safety-related programs and procedures
  • Respond to, record, investigate, and provide corrective action for customer complaints related to food safety
  • Provide data on food safety issues to procurement departments
