Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, quality assurance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in food safety and quality assurance in food manufacturing
- Knowledge of FSQR governance and regulatory compliance
- Experience with QMS and CAPA management
- Proficiency in data analysis and problem solving
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage audits and provide training
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Proficiency with audit and quality management software
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, quality assurance, or related field preferred
- Extensive experience in food safety and quality assurance within food manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of FSQR governance and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to develop and manage QMS and CAPA programs
- Skilled in data analysis, problem solving, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication and training delivery skills
- Experience managing internal and external audits
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with SQF certification processes
- Strong organizational and project management skills
Job Duties
- Ensure alignment with Divisional and DFA corporate FSQR governance as required
- Partner with Retort Solutions Divisional business unit stakeholders to identify, design, and implement improvements and enhancements to existing programs to improve plant food safety and quality engagement
- Support management of change initiatives as warranted
- Identify key issue trends and monitor plant CAPAs and complaints with cross-plant divisional impact and track to closure
- Maintain Divisional level NC/CAPA database for trend analysis, continuous improvement, and verification of effectiveness
- Collaborate to align problem solving tools and support training to enhance plant team skills
- Partner with stakeholders to build and execute tactical plans moving FSQ programs from current state to future state ensuring momentum and minimal disruption
- Trend and report results from regulatory, customer, and third party audits and inspection reports at a Divisional level
- Manage relationship with SQF certifying body and support plant quality teams for audit schedule and reporting
- Develop and support a cross-functional Divisional internal audit program, provide training and materials, and trend internal audit results for continuous improvement plan
- Partner with Divisional resources to improve Customer Supplier Quality, define and maintain data collection processes, leverage trend analysis to close packaging quality gaps and maintain compliance
- Work with Continuous Improvement, Quality Systems, and cross-functional representatives to deliver value by trend analysis and KPI reporting to drive continuous improvements on leading key indicator measures
- Prioritize and drive focused FSQ improvement efforts based on business risks identified by SWOT and assessments
- Develop and deliver plant level Retort Solutions Division FSQ program training
- Promote harmonization and compliance with DFA Corporate policy and procedures
- Provide adhoc site back-up to Plant Quality Managers as needed
- Perform other duties as required
