Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 5 years of relevant food safety or quality assurance experience
- previous experience in food manufacturing plant environment
- knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and USDA regulations
- leadership experience in QA or QC preferred
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to manage multiple projects
- ability to work in environments with varying temperatures
- capable of handling chemicals safely
- able to lift up to 50 pounds during audits and inspections
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, food science, or related field preferred
- minimum of 5 years in food safety or quality assurance roles
- experience in a food manufacturing plant preferred
- meat industry experience preferred
- deep knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FDA, USDA, and food labeling requirements
- minimum 2 years of progressive leadership in QA/QC processes and systems preferred
- strong project management skills
- proficiency with Microsoft Office
- excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- strong interpersonal skills
- exceptional time management and attention to detail
- ability to read and interpret food safety reports and policies
Job Duties
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to drive ownership of food safety and quality on the production floor
- work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are integrated into the production process
- develop, recommend, and monitor corrective actions for deficiencies in food safety or quality
- supervise and mentor FSQA supervisor and hourly team members
- provide ongoing support for hourly team members across both facilities
- implement food safety and quality assurance programs for regulatory compliance
- direct independent FSQA audit program
- plan, conduct, and monitor inspections and testing to ensure safety and quality
- stay current with food safety laws and regulations and communicate updates
- maintain USDA regulation compliance including labeling
- keep GMPs and SOPs library up-to-date
- generate quality assurance KPI reports and communicate findings
- ensure adherence to HACCP and GMPs
- lead HACCP assessments and reassessments
- drive continuous improvement initiatives
- develop and execute training programs
- ensure implementation of new regulations
- represent FSQA in cross-functional teams
- perform other duties as assigned
