Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum 5 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance
  • knowledge of SQF and HACCP principles
  • understanding of USDA-FSIS regulations
  • ability to lead and supervise teams
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • effective communication skills
  • capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • proficiency in quality management systems

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, quality assurance, or related field
  • previous experience in food safety and quality assurance management
  • thorough understanding of SQF, HACCP, USDA-FSIS regulations, and food safety standards
  • demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
  • strong knowledge of sanitation procedures and quality control methods
  • competence in applying statistical process control (SPC)
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • proven ability to manage audits and corrective actions
  • experience in training and developing team members

Job Duties

  • Formulate and maintain quality objectives integrated with corporate goals
  • ensure regulatory compliance
  • disseminate Salm quality philosophy throughout the organization
  • ensure corporate compliance with SQF and customer standards
  • administer Quality Assurance programs
  • serve as the HACCP Coordinator and Food Safety Compliance Representative
  • act as backup to the SQF Compliance Manager
  • liaise between Salm Partners and customers' Food Safety & QA groups
  • develop and execute SSOP and Master Sanitation programs
  • develop inspection, testing, and evaluation standards
  • review quality control data for policy consistency
  • manage sanitation chemical inventory and ordering
  • administer HACCP and related food safety programs
  • manage environmental and product sampling
  • investigate and respond to complaints
  • oversee Internal Audit and Corrective Action processes
  • communicate Quality KPI metrics
  • design quality training programs
  • apply statistical process control methods
  • evaluate new vendors and maintain vendor compliance
  • direct inspection and testing activities
  • keep knowledge of government and industry quality codes
  • develop reports for multiple departments
  • back up the Director of Food Safety and Quality
  • provide FSQA supervisor backup
  • support safety and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • build competency development plans
  • meet company OKRs
  • perform other duties as assigned
