Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent education required
- 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment
- food certification required
- ability to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10F) and kitchens (+110F)
- ability to stand and exert mobility for up to four hours
- ability to lift up to 45 lbs
- ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs
- must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- regular attendance and punctuality
- ability to communicate effectively in the primary workplace language
Job Qualifications

- strong issue resolution and analytical skills
- knowledge of table and bar service
- knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
- ability to describe all menu items and methods of preparation
Job Duties
- Ensure communication in the kitchen by calling out orders, getting the status on dishes, and calling the wait staff to serve completed dishes
- inform the waitstaff when certain dishes or ingredients have run out and pass food requests from the waitstaff to the kitchen
- monitor the food portions on completed dishes according to restaurant standards
- ensure that all orders are completed in time and with the correct priority
- inspect the cleanliness, presentation, and temperature of completed dishes
- perform finishing touches to completed dishes such as adding garnishes and removing smudges
- keep the cooking, storage, and prep areas clean, neat, and well-stocked
- ensure all staff adheres to health and safety standards
- assist all staff as needed
- handle customer complaints on behalf of the kitchen staff and look for solutions
- ensure guests are greeted and served promptly and professionally
- help create a welcoming, helpful, and team-oriented service environment
- perform all other duties assigned by manager or supervisor
