Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service preferred
  • good communication skills

  • knowledge of sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • maintain verbal communication with chefs to check on the status of dishes and call for waitstaff when food is ready to serve
  • keep staff well-informed and alert waitstaff when the kitchen is out of a specific ingredient and relay special food requests from waitstaff to kitchen
  • monitor portion control of finished dishes ensuring they adhere to restaurant standards
  • meet presentation standards by inspecting every plate to ensure proper garnishes and that dishes are free of smudges and spills before delivery
  • keep kitchen areas clean and orderly including cooking, prep, and food storage areas and ensure they are stocked properly
  • adhere to sanitation standards keeping self, tools, and work areas clean and presentable
  • assist all staff with food preparation, cooking, serving plates, and restaurant-wide management tasks
  • address customer complaints representing kitchen staff and finding satisfactory solutions
