- Able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Previous experience in a food service environment preferred but not required
- Ability to learn basic expediting skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards is an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members and guests
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Job Duties
- Assist in preparing work areas by cleaning and stocking as needed
- Proactively obtain necessary supplies from storage areas and prep for use
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables in the restaurant and in music venue outlet rapidly and accurately
- Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
- Communicate food orders to chefs where needed, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
- Help to ensure that food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
- Remove dirty dishes and utensils from table if needed
- Polish plates/flatware and restock hot line and expo shelves
- Learn basic expediting skills, wherein you are able to act as a second expediter should the Chef need to step away from the rail
- Answer guests' questions about ingredients and menu items, within scope of your abilities
- Inform restaurant staff about customers' feedback or requests where applicable (e.g. when they ask for the check)
- Effectively communicate with restaurant staff and management to ensure quality guest experiences and smooth restaurant operation
- Complete additional duties as assigned as part of a team dynamic
