The Food Bank for Larimer County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and food insecurity in Larimer County, Colorado. By partnering with local grocery stores, farms, restaurants, and statewide donors, the Food Bank rescues surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and distributes it to those who need it most through various community programs and agency collaborations. Job Requirements
- Successful completion of all pre-screening requirements
- passing of the WorkSTEPS job-specific test
- 21+ years of age
- possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license with a good driving record, as confirmed through an MVR check
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to operate a 26’ box truck safely
- ability to lift and move objects up to 75 lbs
- proficiency in English
- willingness to work flexible hours Monday to Friday
- compliance with FBLC safety, OSHA, and food safety standards
- ability to work outdoors and in various warehouse environments
- reliable transportation to local sites
- strong attention to detail and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least 1 year of professional driving experience preferred
- experience operating a forklift is a plus
- proficiency in English required
- bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online technologies
- experience with inventory and project management systems, especially Microsoft Navision Ceres 2009
- ability to operate a 26’ box truck safely
- current Food Safety Certification
- knowledge of Feeding America donation guidelines
- strong communication and operational skills
- valid U.S. driver’s license with good driving record
Job Duties
- Safely operate a 26’ box truck to transport rescued food from local and statewide partners to our warehouse, No-Cost Market, and community agencies
- represent the Food Bank with professionalism and kindness, acting as a critical bridge between donors, partners, and the organization
- inspect and handle donated food according to food safety standards
- ensure proper temperatures, storage, and handling at every stage
- maintain a current Food Safety Certification and adhere to Feeding America’s donation guidelines
- support occasional special events that may occur during evenings or weekends
- ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including licensing, logs, inspections, and routine vehicle maintenance
- keep vehicles clean and operational, reporting any issues promptly
- accurately document all food collected and delivered
- enter data into our tracking system
- communicate frequently with the transportation team about changes, delays, or issues that arise during routes
- support general warehouse operations, including inventory, loading/unloading, and organization
- maintain adherence to FBLC safety, OSHA, and food safety standards, prioritizing safety for oneself and others
- embody organizational values in local, state, and regional collaborations
- demonstrate sensitivity to various viewpoints and deliver exceptional customer service through kindness and engagement
