- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in a food preparation or cooking role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients
Job Duties
- Washes, chops, slices, weighs, measures and mixes ingredients and prepares individual portions in accordance with specifications and cooking instructions
- Cooks food as assigned following detailed recipes and procedures
- Uses all appropriate cooking equipment such as gas ovens, ranges, fryers and various utensils
- Assigns a variety of meal preparation tasks to Cook's Helper, such as washing, slicing and mixing ingredients, panning and seasoning foods
- Maintains cleanliness, safety and general appearance of cooking stations
- Cleans work tables and utensils
- Performs above duties at all cooking stations on rotation basis, assists in cold food preparation
- Makes recommendations to supervisor regarding status of Baker and Baker's Helper
- Performs related duties as required
