Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a relevant culinary role
  • equivalent of 2-3 years of post-high school education or relevant experience
  • ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to develop menus and control food costs
  • hands-on leadership approach
  • commitment to maintaining health and safety compliance

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise culinary tasks while training and managing kitchen staff
  • monitor daily kitchen operations to facilitate smooth service delivery and uphold quality standards
  • gauge anticipated food consumption to requisition or obtain required food items
  • hand-select and develop menu options and standardize production protocols to guarantee consistent quality
  • establish presentation techniques and quality standards, plan and price menus
  • maintain and operate kitchen equipment properly to safeguard performance
  • uphold sanitation and safety standards to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • oversee special catering events and provide culinary instruction or demonstrations as needed
  • assist in the development of junior culinary staff by sharing expertise and promoting their learning and growth
