Job Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED
  • One to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be willing to attend and complete Food Manager Certification course
  • Availability for 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday between 1:30 P.M. and 5:30 P.M.
  • Ability to work in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and food safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months of related experience or training
  • Ability to work professionally with children and adults
  • Willingness to complete Food Manager Certification
  • Knowledge of food preparation practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to food safety standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook family-style meals for children, volunteers, and staff
  • Follow Head Start Performance Standards
  • Comply with State of Minnesota CACFP regulations
  • Adhere to county regulations for food licensed sites
  • Collaborate professionally with Head Start staff, parents, and children
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Attend and complete Food Manager Certification course
