Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a nonprofit or community service setting
  • Valid government issued driver’s license
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population or an eagerness to learn about this community
  • Flexibility in response to change, adapting quickly to shifting priorities

  • Valid government issued driver’s license

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist clients accessing the food pantry with empathy and respect
  • Collaborate with other program staff to maintain accurate inventory records
  • Monitor stock levels, organize shelves, and track expiration dates to minimize waste
  • Participate in the smooth operation of food distribution processes
  • Pack and distribute food items according to established guidelines, ensuring equitable and efficient service
  • Conduct regular quality checks on food items to ensure freshness and compliance with safety standards
  • Maintain detailed records of food distribution activities
  • Assist in compiling data for reports, documenting the number of clients served, and other relevant metrics
  • Work collaboratively with volunteers supporting food pantry operations
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and community partners
  • Adhere to all agency policies, including confidentiality, employee handbook, health care corporate compliance plan, standards of conduct, and other relevant policies
