Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food service or kitchen operations
  • Ability to read and understand policies and procedures
  • Ability to supervise and train inmates or staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Willingness to undergo background investigation and drug screening
  • Effective communication and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and supervise the work of others
  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and cost controls
  • Ability to operate and repair food service equipment
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook
  • Prior experience in food service supervision preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise the activities of inmates in the preparation and serving of meals for the population and staff
  • Train inmates in all kitchen policies and procedures
  • Maintain a high standard of food safety, sanitation and quality in a cost-efficient manner
  • Monitor and supervise the work of food service staff and inmates
  • Ensure compliance with institutional regulations and health codes
  • Operate and repair food service equipment
  • Implement cost controls related to food service operations
