Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years management experience
  • 1 year food or culinary services experience
  • demonstrated leadership and employee engagement
  • background in safety and sanitation compliance
  • high volume food service experience
  • contract food service experience preferred
  • union environment management experience preferred
  • food service experience in high-end establishments preferred
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • ability to prioritize and adapt to additional responsibilities

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum 2 years management experience
  • minimum 1 year food or culinary services experience in restaurants, catering, institutional services, or similar settings
  • strong leadership and employee engagement skills
  • proficiency with food management systems
  • proven financial management skills including budgeting and cost controls
  • knowledge of safety and sanitation compliance
  • union environment management experience preferred
  • experience in high-end food service establishments preferred
  • strong professional communication skills
  • customer service oriented
  • ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily culinary operations in a high-volume mess hall
  • maintain positive client relations ensuring customer satisfaction
  • manage food quality, safety, and presentation standards
  • utilize online food management systems for menu planning, ordering, and inventory control
  • control food and labor costs and manage budget adherence
  • lead and engage staff fostering teamwork and compliance with safety and sanitation protocols
  • ensure excellent customer service in a welcoming dining environment
