Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior cooking or food preparation experience
  • knowledge of food safety guidelines
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • excellent communication skills
  • physical ability to perform kitchen tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
  • commitment to follow safety and sanitation procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • effective interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • capable of meeting physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food items based on production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • set up work area with necessary tools and ingredients
  • measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items
  • safely use kitchen utensils including knives
  • operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stovetops, and blenders
  • apply various cooking techniques including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • store food according to safety regulations
  • clean and sterilize work environments, equipment, and tools
  • maintain excellent customer service and a welcoming attitude
  • adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation standards
  • preserve confidentiality of company property
