Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree
- valid Virginia driver's license with a responsible driving record
- experience in institutional food service operations or food distribution
- knowledge of federal laws related to USDA donated foods programs
- strong communication skills
- analytical skills for data analysis and policy recommendation
- budgeting and financial management experience
- proficiency with standard computer applications
- ability to supervise staff and manage program operations
Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in any field as required by the USDA
- extensive knowledge of institutional food service operations, management, business, or nutrition education
- experience with USDA donated foods programs and federal regulations
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- strong analytical, budgeting, and financial management skills
- proficiency with computers and standard business applications
- experience supervising and evaluating staff
- demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage complex programs
Job Duties
- oversee the Food Distribution Program staff managing USDA donated foods and funds
- coordinate food distribution program operations for National School Lunch Program, Summer Food Service Program, Emergency Food Assistance Program, and Commodity Supplemental Food Program
- manage grant services including audits, reviewing funding requests, and reporting
- plan, organize, and evaluate program administration and staff performance
- maintain compliance with federal laws and regulations applicable to USDA food programs
- communicate effectively with public and management at all levels
- analyze data to recommend policies and improvements
