Job Requirements
- must be 18 years of age
- must be able to stand for extended periods
- able to lift and stock up to 50 pounds
- capable of bending, pushing, keyboarding, telephone use and walking
- strong interpersonal skills
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- high school diploma or equivalent required
- must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- must comply with health and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a bakery or food service environment preferred
- leadership or supervisory experience in retail or food service is a plus
- strong communication skills
- ability to lead and motivate a team
- knowledge of bakery product handling and merchandising standards
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- basic math and inventory ordering skills
- customer service oriented
- familiarity with health and safety regulations in food service
Job Duties
- Directing bakery department personnel, meeting department's goals and objectives
- managing the bakery while the bakery team lead is not on duty
- communicating directly with the bakery team lead, store director and bakery specialist
- ordering the supplies and products necessary to maintain adequate stock levels
- merchandising bakery goods in accordance with bakery merchandising standards
- executing and supporting all sales and merchandising initiatives
- serving as the leader of his/her department, role model, coach, performance evaluator and trainer for his/her team
- ensuring department and team compliance with health department and weights and measures requirements
- understanding the importance of and monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage
- keeping a clean, neat and orderly check stand/sales counter and work production areas
- wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them as necessary to ensure quality and safety
- taking customer orders, ensuring orders are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction
- all other related duties as assigned
