Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and stock up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Basic math skills for measuring and scaling ingredients
- Must have reliable transportation to work
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bakery or food preparation experience preferred
- Knowledge of bakery equipment and food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to follow company recipes and instructions accurately
Job Duties
- Mixing, weighing, proofing, baking, frying, decorating, finishing and merchandising quality bakery products using Bashas’ recipes
- Loading and unloading the oven, knowing the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of product
- Scaling cakes and cupcakes, icing sweet rolls, breads and cookies
- Assisting in the ordering and receiving of bakery products and supplies
- Controlling product inventory, out of stocks, shrink and supplies
- Using scale printer machine, ensuring weights and pricing are correct
- Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage
- Keeping a clean, neat and orderly bench, production area, storage area, and walk-in coolers and freezers
- Wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them to ensure quality and safety
- Displaying goods following bakery department and/or merchandising guidelines
- Assisting decorators with personalization of cakes and icing of cakes, donuts, sweet rolls and more
- Performing all other related duties as assigned
