Job Requirements

Must be 18 years of age
Must be 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol
Ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment
Physical ability to stand, sit, lift and stock up to 50 lbs, push, keyboard, use telephone, walk, and bend for extended periods
Must comply with food safety and sanitation standards
Must be available to work flexible hours
For internal transfers or promotion, current leader recommendation and HR endorsement required
Rehires must be approved by an HR business partner
May be asked to accept part-time position if full time is not available

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in a bakery or food production environment is an asset
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to follow recipes and baking instructions accurately
Good customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills for measuring and scaling ingredients
Ability to stand for long periods
Ability to lift and stock items up to 50 lbs
Reliable and punctual
Team player with good communication skills

Job Duties

Mixing, weighing, proofing, baking, frying, decorating, finishing and merchandising quality bakery products using Bashas' recipes
Loading and unloading the oven, knowing the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of products
Scaling cakes and cupcakes, icing sweet rolls, breads and cookies
Assisting in the ordering and receiving of bakery products and supplies
Controlling product inventory and out of stocks, shrink and supplies
Using scale printer machine, ensuring weights and pricing are correct
Understanding the importance and the monitoring of product pricing, signage, and placement as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage
Keeping a clean, neat and orderly bench, production area, storage area, and walk-in coolers and freezers
Helping in the wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them as necessary to ensure quality and safety
Displaying goods following bakery department and/or merchandising guidelines
Helping decorators with personalization of cakes and icing of cakes, donuts, sweet rolls and etc.
All other related duties as assigned
