Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience preferred
  • minimum one year experience working with the public in customer service
  • requires Serve Safe Food Protection Manager Certification or ability to obtain within six months
  • knowledge of or ability to learn diet therapy related to food selection and modified diets
  • ability to use computer, laptop, tablet, and cell phones
  • strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • oversees meal service to patients in a professional and efficient manner
  • instructs patients on meal ordering system
  • utilizes technology to place bedside patient orders or telephone orders
  • ensures accuracy and accountability of patient trays with special diet needs
  • documents food intake to support nutrition care
  • communicates effectively with patients and clinical staff
  • manages food preference data and updates orders accordingly
