Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Willingness to work in varying temperature environments
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Preferred valid California Driver's License
- Preferred CA ServSafe Certification
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of culinary arts and large-scale cooking methods
- Ability to follow complex multi-step written and oral instructions
- Basic math skills including fractions, percentages, and ratios
- Experience in food production and kitchen operation
- Familiarity with food safety practices and HACCP protocols
- Ability to operate kitchen and commercial equipment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook large-scale meals following prescribed menu
- Adjust recipes using basic math skills
- Estimate food quantities to minimize waste
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitary standards in food preparation and serving areas
- Assist and support assigned personnel in food preparation and serving
- Clean kitchen, utensils, dishes, and equipment
- May function as Food Nutrition Services Lead Worker when required
