Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Willingness to work in varying temperature environments
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Preferred valid California Driver's License
  • Preferred CA ServSafe Certification

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of culinary arts and large-scale cooking methods
  • Ability to follow complex multi-step written and oral instructions
  • Basic math skills including fractions, percentages, and ratios
  • Experience in food production and kitchen operation
  • Familiarity with food safety practices and HACCP protocols
  • Ability to operate kitchen and commercial equipment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook large-scale meals following prescribed menu
  • Adjust recipes using basic math skills
  • Estimate food quantities to minimize waste
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitary standards in food preparation and serving areas
  • Assist and support assigned personnel in food preparation and serving
  • Clean kitchen, utensils, dishes, and equipment
  • May function as Food Nutrition Services Lead Worker when required
