Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two years of experience in hotel food and beverage department or related field preferred
  • ability to stand during entire shift
  • ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • ability to work long hours sometimes
  • open availability and flexibility with scheduling
  • must comply with payroll policies, meal and rest periods, and conduct rules
  • knowledge of safety and security procedures
  • must maintain a drug-free workplace

Job Duties

  • Maintain regular attendance according to scheduling needs
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • comply with property standards and regulations
  • weigh, measure, mix, and prep ingredients according to recipes
  • ensure kitchen area, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and properly maintained
  • check food and ingredients for freshness and quality control
  • prepare menu items according to approved menu cards while ensuring product consistency and presentation
  • maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
  • be familiar with property organization and the function of each department
  • assist in maintaining food and beverage costs
  • maintain close communication with employees and motivate them
  • monitor and follow up on servers' cash overages and shortages
  • maintain service standards throughout the department
  • immediately follow up on accidents, problems, or guest complaints
  • be familiar with and react to emergency situations
  • maintain consistent disciplinary actions for food and beverage employees
  • be familiar with Toast P.O.S. and Time & Attendance systems
  • assist in preparation of staff schedules
  • assist in monthly inventories and reconciliations
  • monitor inventory and place orders
  • ensure all side work duties are completed by servers
