Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years supervisory experience in restaurant or catering environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain excellent attendance
  • Ability to handle cash responsibly
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
  • Availability to work scheduled events as business need dictates

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years experience in a supervisory capacity in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or applicable education
  • Ability to supervise the work of others
  • Strong communication skills with employees, co-workers, management, and guests in a clear, respectful manner
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by regulations
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions related to POS transactions, cash reconciliation, and inventory

Job Duties

  • Overseeing the serving of meals to guests or directing guests to the buffet line
  • Supervising the service of beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages and verifying IDs
  • Assisting in recording guest orders and relaying them to the kitchen via POS system
  • Observing guests to respond to additional requests and determine meal completion
  • Computing meal costs, presenting checks, accepting payments, and providing change
  • Ensuring tableware and linens are replaced as necessary
  • Recommending dishes and explaining menu items to guests
  • Supervising the setup of banquet functions including linens, dishware, glassware, and silverware
  • Maintaining sanitation, health, and safety standards
  • Demonstrating excellent attendance
  • Ensuring location equipment is operable and clean
  • Recognizing visibly intoxicated guests and cutting off alcohol service
  • Enforcing all company policies and procedures
  • Practicing human resources skills relating to employee relations, corrective action, coaching, counseling, and completing HR paperwork
  • Assisting management with projects including training, inventory, and special events
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by managers and supervisors
