Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years supervisory experience in food and beverage or catering environment
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and event-based schedule
- Must have valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by law
- Excellent attendance record
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Must be 21 years or older to serve alcohol
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Job Qualifications
- At least 1-2 years experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or applicable education
- Ability to supervise the work of others effectively
- Clear and respectful communication skills with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management and guests
- Ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
- Ability to perform basic math functions related to transactions and inventory
Job Duties
- Oversee the serving of meals to guests or direct guests to the buffet line
- Supervise the service of beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages with proper ID verification
- Assist in recording guest orders and relaying them to the kitchen via P.O.S. system
- Observe guests to respond to additional requests and determine when meals are completed
- Compute meal costs, present checks, accept payments, and provide change
- Ensure tableware and linens are replaced as necessary
- Recommend dishes and explain menu items
- Supervise banquet setup including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware
- Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards
- Monitor equipment operability and cleanliness before events
- Identify intoxicated guests and take action to cut off alcohol
- Enforce all OVG policies and procedures
- Practice excellent human resources skills including employee relations, corrective action, coaching and counseling employees
- Assist management with training, inventory and special event projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
