Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1-2 years experience in food and beverage supervision
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by local laws
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years' experience working in a supervisory capacity in a fast-paced restaurant
  • Ability to supervise the work of others
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions related to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory

Job Duties

  • Responsible for overseeing the serving of meals to guests or directing guests
  • Responsible for supervising the service of beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages and verifying guest IDs
  • Assisting in recording a guest's order and relaying the order to the kitchen via POS system
  • Observing guests to respond to additional requests and determining when the meal is completed
  • Computing the cost of meals and presenting checks, accepting payments and providing change
  • Ensuring tableware and linens are replaced as necessary
  • Recommending dishes and explaining menu items
  • Supervising banquet function setup including linens, dishware, glassware, and silverware
  • Maintaining sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • Meeting company standards for attendance
  • Ensuring location equipment is operable and clean prior to events
  • Recognizing intoxicated guests and taking action to cut off alcohol
  • Enforcing all company policies and procedures
  • Assisting management with training, inventory, and special events
  • Performing other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors
