Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment
- valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if applicable
- strong communication skills in English
- ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- excellent attendance record
- ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented event environments
Job Qualifications
- At least 1-2 years experience working in a supervisory capacity in a fast-paced restaurant
- ability to supervise the work of others
- ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, coworkers, volunteers, management staff and guests
- ability to speak, read and write in English
- ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- possess valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by law
- ability to calculate basic math functions related to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory
Job Duties
- Oversee the serving of meals to guests or direct guests
- supervise the service of beverages including alcoholic beverages and verify guest IDs
- assist in recording guest orders and relaying them to the kitchen via POS system
- observe guests to respond to additional requests and determine meal completion
- compute meal costs and handle payments
- ensure tableware and linens are replaced as necessary
- recommend dishes and explain menu items
- supervise banquet function setup including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware
- maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
- maintain excellent attendance
- ensure venue equipment is operable and clean prior to events
- recognize visibly intoxicated guests and cut off alcohol
- enforce company policies and procedures
- assist management with training, inventory and special events
- perform other duties assigned by management
