Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years supervisory experience in restaurant or catering
  • Food handling certificate or alcohol service permit as required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environments
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Basic math skills for transaction handling
  • Ability to manage employee relations and enforce policies
  • Must be able to work scheduled events as needed

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years experience in a supervisory capacity in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or applicable education
  • Ability to supervise others
  • Clear, businesslike, and respectful communication skills
  • Proficiency in English speaking, reading and writing
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possession of a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required
  • Cash handling accuracy and responsibility
  • Ability to perform basic math functions related to POS transactions, cash reconciliation, and inventory

Job Duties

  • Overseeing the serving of meals to guests or directing guests to the buffet line
  • Supervising the service of beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages and verifying IDs
  • Assisting in recording guests' orders and relaying orders to the kitchen via the POS system
  • Observing guests to respond to additional requests and determining when meals are complete
  • Computing meal costs, presenting checks, accepting payments, and providing change
  • Ensuring tableware and linens are replaced as necessary
  • Recommending dishes and explaining menu items
  • Supervising banquet function setup including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware
  • Maintaining sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • Demonstrating excellent attendance and availability
  • Ensuring location equipment is operable and clean before events
  • Recognizing and managing visibly intoxicated guests by cutting off alcohol
  • Enforcing all company policies and procedures
  • Practicing excellent human resources skills including employee coaching, counseling and corrective action
  • Assisting management with training, inventory and special events
  • Performing service duties in any capacity needed such as serving, event setup, bartending, and expo
  • Completing all other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors
