Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one to two years supervising experience
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, daylight and evening shifts
- strong knowledge of health and safety standards in a food and beverage operation
- ability to manage, train and handle employee issues
- ability to oversee employee skills quality and sanitation
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals
- effective public speaking skills
- math skills including making change and handling cash
- ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
- previous point of sale experience preferably Micros
- intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office
- willingness to learn new skills
- must obtain required PGCB and Presque Isle Downs licenses
- able to sit, walk, stand for extended periods
- able to lift 30 pounds
- able to talk and hear
- vision including close, distance, and peripheral
- work in environments with occasional loud noise and possible cigarette smoke exposure
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one to two years of supervisory experience in food and beverage
- strong knowledge of health and safety standards in food and beverage operations
- ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- effective verbal communication skills
- ability to perform basic math calculations including percentages and cash handling
- experience with point of sale systems preferably Micros
- intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word
- ability to learn new software and management skills
- current and appropriate PGCB and Presque Isle Downs licensing
Job Duties
- Provide leadership support to the management team during shifts
- schedule, organize, and train food and beverage staff
- manage inventory and payroll tasks including weekly payroll and tip reporting
- supervise the assignment of duties and proper cleanup of food and beverage areas
- process cash reads in accordance with established procedures
- maintain liquor cost controls and accurate inventory records
- handle guest compliments and complaints and communicate with management
- provide operational relief and uphold high service standards
- supervise front of house staff in the manager's absence
- assist in managing upscale full-service restaurant
- oversee large party events to ensure guest satisfaction
- participate in business growth initiatives and upscale event planning
- issue complimentary items according to company policies
