Job Requirements
- High school diploma required
- 2-4 years experience in food service
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of pertinent state and federal health and sanitation regulations
- Competent in food service and delivery including portioning, presentation, temperature
- ServeSafe certification preferred
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and courteous manner and deliver an enjoyable dining experience
- Ability to provide consistent execution and exemplary service
- Ability to coach other staff members
- Ability to monitor many elements simultaneously and adjust priorities for food standards, presentation, safety, service and speed
- Ability to lead both back and front of house teams
- Ability to respond quickly, calmly and appropriately to employee conflicts and resident issues
- Ability to communicate standards clearly to staff and customers
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Computer skills in MS Office and related programs
Job Qualifications

- Strong communication skills for clear instructions and interaction with diverse customers
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and related software
Job Duties
- Provide an enjoyable dining experience and ambiance for residents and guests through exceptional service
- Supervise dining room staff to ensure proper service and coach team members to maintain consistent and exemplary customer service
- Maintain high standards for food presentation, quality, and service
- Receive and resolve complaints concerning food and service using patience, active listening, and positive communication
- Manage financial transactions including happy hour, employee meals, vouchers, cash transactions and billing
- Serve as liaison between dining room and kitchen staff promoting collaboration
- Pay attention to detail relating to appearance, cleanliness, organization, safety of dining room areas, equipment and fixtures
- Complete daily inspections and weekly audits to ensure all side work is accomplished and equipment maintenance is up to schedule
- Direct pre-meal meetings and relay information and policy changes
- Suggest improvements in dining room service procedures and layout
- Maintain inventory of dining room items ensuring proper cleaning, storage, and replacement
- Help update and refine policy and procedure manuals for service staff
- Ensure completion of dining room opening and closing procedures and secure dining room and kitchen
- Ensure adherence to local and state laws and dining policies for food, beverage, and alcohol service
- Follow special diets and provide special utensils as needed
- Report resident issues or concerns to nursing or food service management
- Cross train to cover duties for other locations and support other dining rooms as needed
- Participate in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement activities
- Assist with special events, celebrations and projects
- Perform other assignments as required by Dining management
- Work every other weekend, holidays and special events as assigned
