Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years experience managing food and beverage operations
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to supervise and train staff
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to perform regular reviews and inspections of food and bar practices
- Capability to prepare operational reports and make recommendations
- Willingness to support EEO principles and prevent sexual harassment
- Must comply with safety regulations and OSHA standards
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
Job Qualifications
- Three years of experience demonstrating knowledge of fundamental principles, methodology, and techniques in operational management of food and bar programs
- Knowledge and skill to perform regular or periodic reviews and inspections of food and bar practices
- Ability to evaluate adequacy of facility activities and prepare reports with recommendations
- Experience in coordinating purchasing and administrative business practices
- Skill to supervise employees effectively
- White-collar position experience with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
Job Duties
- Provide managerial and supervisory support to all food and beverage locations within MCCS Hawaii
- Manage and oversee food and bar operations in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Coordinate and execute food and beverage special events
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all food and beverage service areas
- Prepare menus and establish selling prices to attain desired cost of goods
- Analyze product mix, product costs, and plate costs to ensure operational sustainability and profitability
- Make recommendations to supervisors regarding facility policies and standard operating procedures
- Collect and assemble statistical data on operations and maintenance expenditures
- Report and submit work orders to ensure properties are structurally sound and visually appealing
- Contact vendors for foodstuff prices and negotiation
- Resolve food and bar administrative and operational problems by evaluating information and drafting reports
- Coordinate and ensure timely preparation and distribution of administrative reports
- Ensure compliance with fire, safety, security, and sanitation policies and regulations
- Perform supervisory functions typical of a first-level supervisor, including preparing work schedules, making work assignments, evaluating performance, training employees, establishing leave schedules, and initiating personnel actions
- Support principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment
- Provide world-class customer service emphasizing courtesy
- Assist customers and communicate positively
- Resolve customer issues promptly
- Develop and implement an activity safety program according to the Base Safety Program
- Conduct safety meetings quarterly
- Advise employees on safety regulations and materials
- Report workplace accidents promptly
- Ensure safety training is provided and OSHA standards are met
- Enforce disciplinary actions for safety infractions
- Perform other related duties as assigned
