Job Requirements

  • Three years relevant experience in food and beverage management
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations and sanitation standards
  • Ability to manage and supervise staff
  • Experience in coordinating special events
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to analyze financial data related to food and beverage costs
  • Knowledge of safety and OSHA regulations
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to use standard office software
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
  • U.S. Selective Service registration for males, if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Three years experience demonstrating knowledge of operational management of assigned food and bar programs
  • Knowledge of food and bar practices for regular or periodic reviews and inspections
  • Ability to evaluate facility activities and prepare reports and recommendations
  • Experience coordinating purchasing and administrative business practices
  • Skill to supervise employees and accomplish work
  • Ability to provide world-class customer service
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to resolve operational problems
  • Basic physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs

Job Duties

  • Provide managerial and supervisory support to all Food and Beverage (F&B) locations within MCCS Hawaii
  • Manage and oversee food/bar operations in accordance with established policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Coordinate and execute food and beverage special events
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all food and beverage service areas
  • Prepare menus and establish selling prices to attain desired cost of goods
  • Analyze product mix, product costs, and plate costs to ensure operational sustainability and profitability
  • Recommend changes to facility policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures
  • Collect and assemble statistical data regarding operations and maintenance expenditures
  • Report and submit work orders to maintain facilities
  • Contact vendors for pricing and selection negotiations
  • Resolve food/bar administrative and operational problems
  • Prepare and distribute administrative reports
  • Ensure compliance with fire, safety, security and sanitation policies and regulations
  • Perform supervisory functions including preparing work schedules, making assignments, evaluating performance, training employees, establishing leave schedules, and initiating personnel and disciplinary actions
  • Support EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment
  • Provide world-class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy
  • Assist customers and communicate positively
  • Check for satisfaction and solve problems quickly
  • Develop and implement activity safety program
  • Conduct safety meetings quarterly
  • Advise employees on safety regulations and equipment
  • Report workplace accidents
  • Ensure safety training
  • Comply with OSHA standards and correct unsafe conditions
  • Ensure employees understand safety infractions and disciplinary actions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
