Job Requirements

  • Completion of a culinary degree, program or certificate with at least 3 years of experience related to food and beverage management
  • Degree in business administration or hospitality management is a plus
  • Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management
  • Management experience in both front and back of house
  • Proven customer service skills in a managerial role
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS software
  • Strong leadership and motivational abilities
  • Financial management competencies
  • Physically fit with good stamina

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of a culinary degree, program or certificate with at least 3 years of relevant food and beverage management experience
  • Degree in business administration, hospitality management, or culinary schooling is a plus
  • Proven work experience as a restaurant manager, restaurant general manager, or hospitality manager
  • Experience managing both front and back of house operations
  • Proven customer service experience as a manager with ability to relate well to guests, co-workers, and employees
  • Familiarity with restaurant software such as Micros and/or Toast
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Financial management skills
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Neat, professional and well-groomed appearance
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Coordinate daily front of the house and back of the house operations in the food and beverage department
  • Coordinate staff scheduling with other department managers to ensure full coverage during hotel operations and functions
  • Responsible for scheduling, hiring, training, disciplining, and performance management of subordinate staff
  • Train and manage front-of-the-house bistro staff as well as back-of-the-house cooks while motivating staff to provide excellent customer service
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity and morale
  • Uphold and train employees to follow Marriott standards for bistro operations including updates and changes of Marriott's Seasonal Rollouts and banquet menus
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints and deliver superior food and beverage service while maximizing customer satisfaction
  • Estimate food and beverage consumption and purchase supplies as needed
  • Oversee food preparation and maintain inventory for food and liquor needs and report to General Manager
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance along with proper safety and sanitation practices are followed
  • Prepare Bistro and Banquet meals as needed
  • Maximize sales and revenue for food and beverage operations while maintaining revenue, profitability and quality goals
  • Oversee dining room by checking in with customers and following up with tables
  • Implement Woodbury Corporation policies and protocols
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Work varied hours including early mornings, nights and weekends as business needs permit
