  • knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
  • knowledge of health department rules and liquor laws and regulations
  • computer skills required with experience preferred in hotel information systems

Job Duties

  • monitor industry trends and update cocktail lists and menu items as necessary
  • prepare the food and beverage budget and monitor department performance
  • work with the general manager and keep informed of food and beverage issues
  • coordinate and monitor all phases of loss prevention in the food and beverage department
  • prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner
  • organize and conduct department meetings regularly
  • ensure compliance with all local liquor laws and health and sanitation regulations
  • ensure departmental training and compliance with standard operating procedures
  • interview candidates for front-of-house food and beverage positions and follow hiring standards
  • conduct or attend all required meetings including pre-event and post-event meetings
  • provide employees with tools and environment to deliver exceptional dining experiences
  • develop and implement strategies to support employee engagement
  • maintain product consistency by inspecting seasonings, portions, and appearance of food
  • create an unforgettable dining experience in restaurant or banquet facilities
  • approach encounters with guests and employees in attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • maintain high standards of team’s personal appearance and grooming
  • maximize productivity efforts and identify and implement solutions
  • handle problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary
  • perform other duties as requested by management
