The Greater Williamsburg Sports and Events Center is a premier indoor sports, recreation, and events complex located in the scenic Williamsburg, Virginia area, also known as the Historic Triangle. This Historic Triangle includes three historic colonial communities situated on the Virginia Peninsula, making it a unique and culturally rich location for visitors and locals alike. Covering approximately 200,000 square feet, this new facility is designed to host a wide range of sports and recreational activities. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in food and beverage operations
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- familiarity with budget management and cost control practices
- ability to lead and motivate diverse teams
- strong communication and organizational skills
- flexible availability including nights and weekends
- valid certifications for alcohol service such as TIPS or R.A.M.
- experience with event and banquet food service management
Job Qualifications
- High school, college degree, required or preferred
- 5 years applicable functional, supervisory and/or management experience, preferably in the golf industry
- demonstrated experience and capability in the areas of budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, staff management
- demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- ability to analyze and solve problems
- efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision
- work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends
- positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations
Job Duties
- Oversee the annual food and beverage operating plan and budget to ensure alignment with revenue goals and guest experience standards
- manage all food and beverage outlets across the park, including full-service restaurants, counter service locations, and banquet/catering spaces
- recruit, train, schedule, and supervise all F&B FOH team members, including service staff, kitchen staff, and event/catering personnel
- ensure consistent adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- implement and monitor purchasing and inventory systems to maintain appropriate stock levels and manage cost controls across all units
- collaborate with marketing and programming teams to develop promotions, packages, and event-driven activations to increase guest spending and enhance brand visibility
- maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and partners to optimize product quality and pricing
- lead the planning and execution of food and beverage service for internal events, tournaments, banquets, and external rentals
- ensure seamless communication and coordination between kitchen and service staff to maintain consistency in guest service and culinary execution
- uphold compliance with TABC guidelines and all alcohol service regulations
- maintain certifications for responsible alcohol management programs (e.g., TIPS or R.A.M.)
- monitor guest satisfaction through feedback loops and service recovery efforts to maintain a high standard of hospitality across all touchpoints
- stay current with industry trends, emerging concepts, and guest expectations to evolve the Mansfield Sports Park food and beverage program
