Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in food and beverage management preferably in a hotel or resort setting
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to manage budgets and control costs
- proficient in menu planning and development
- understanding of inventory management and ordering procedures
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- food handlers and responsible beverage services certified

Job Duties
- selecting training, evaluating, counseling and disciplining team members in accordance with company policies and safety and sanitation requirements
- maintaining employee records related to attendance, punctuality and performance
- overseeing determining labor needs and adjusting staffing levels as necessary
- preparing work schedules with specific duties for each staff member
- keeping track of all food handlers licenses and responsible beverage services certifications for servers
- holding regular staff meetings to communicate information and update employees on concerns or feedback
- ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations as well as food safety and sanitation requirements
- maintaining high standards of quality control for scheduled food and beverage cleaning programs
- ensuring all equipment and furnishings are kept clean and all food contact areas are sanitized at least once daily
- selecting and providing proper equipment and supplies for the team
- assisting with inventory and ordering supplies as needed
- developing, planning, implementing and following through on programs and procedures to benefit the company
- attending hotel management meetings
- preparing and reviewing food and beverage budgets, cost control, labor, and sales target reports
- assisting in implementing and monitoring internal controls for the food and beverage department
- assisting in writing standard recipes for all beverages and ensuring all bartenders use these standard recipes
- verifying accuracy of all charges to ensure proper posting to accounts
- communicating effectively with guests to ensure positive experiences
- promptly resolving guest issues
- maintaining integrity, confidentiality and sensitivity with internal and external guests
- coordinating with front desk, human resources, maintenance staff and food and beverage director on tasks requiring attention
- taking on additional duties as needed
