Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in food and beverage management preferably in hotel or banquet settings
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of financial management and budget control
  • Must have valid TIPS/RBS certification and California Food Handler's certification
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions
  • Familiarity with Kronos, Birchstreet, Microsoft Office, Synergy, OpenTable, and FDC systems
  • Commitment to upholding Omni Hotels & Resorts policies and legal compliance

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing banquet operations including event coordination and staff management
  • Proven experience overseeing food and beverage outlets and in-room dining operations
  • Experience in food and beverage management with knowledge of food and wine
  • Experience managing upscale hotel F&B operations with banquet-heavy environment
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong financial management skills including experience with budgets and labor productivity
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Micros or other restaurant management systems
  • TIPS/RBS certification and California Food Handler's certification required prior to hire
  • Culinary training or menu design experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of banquet function management including event coordination and flawless service delivery
  • Ensure banquet and meeting spaces are set up according to specifications and assist banquet housemen with setups as needed
  • Directly supervise and coordinate banquet staff during events to provide top-notch food and beverage service
  • Supervise post-event clearing, cleanup, and maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Maintain adherence to banquet service standards ensuring high quality and efficiency
  • Collaborate with catering, F&B management, and other departments for seamless event execution
  • Address guest concerns and complaints related to banquet functions promptly to ensure satisfaction
  • Monitor and report necessary repairs or maintenance of banquet equipment
  • Oversee operations of Monte's Restaurant, Monte's Bar, and other outlets ensuring high standards of cleanliness and quality
  • Manage in-room dining services ensuring prompt, efficient, and courteous service
  • Lead training and development of staff across all food and beverage outlets including in-room dining
  • Monitor guest experience and promptly address any concerns to maintain satisfaction
  • Work with culinary team on menu review and innovation for all outlets
  • Promote sales and upselling techniques to enhance guest experience and increase revenue
  • Coordinate with kitchen, service staff, and other departments during service hours
  • Ensure financial management by maintaining budget adherence for food, beverage, and payroll costs
  • Manage, train, and develop team members focusing on maintaining high service standards
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings across all departments
  • Enforce liquor liability laws and regulatory compliance
  • Implement sales promotions and merchandising strategies
  • Coordinate food preparation and delivery among chefs, stewards, and service staff
  • Maintain accurate payroll, reporting, and closing procedures including labor management
