Job Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least four years of management experience in a banquet facility servicing meals for large events
  • Serve-safe certification
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and labor costs
  • Proficient with computer skills including Excel
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Customer service orientation
  • Physical ability to walk and operate office equipment

Job Qualifications

  • At least four years of management experience in a banquet facility servicing meals for large events
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility
  • Results oriented individual with the ability to meet required budgetary goals
  • Excellent organizational planning communication and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
  • Computer skills to include Excel programs
  • Serve-safe certified
  • Ability to be creative with buffet presentations and maintain a quality product
  • Attention to detail and service oriented

Job Duties

  • Hiring and training of all food and beverage servers cashiers and bartenders
  • Maintaining labor costs and budget goals
  • Fulfilling the service per each banquet event order
  • Maintains an active role in local hospitality community and professional associations
  • Attend in-house event-related meetings and relays immediate changes with other departments
  • Maintaining all banquet equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance
  • Maintain a health department score of 90 or higher
  • Must be creative in designing buffets and coffee break decor
  • Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service is a must
  • Position is very hands on with excessive interaction with clients during events
  • Ordering linen and maintaining uniforms
  • Responsible for inventory control beverage inventory ordering receiving and controls
  • Responsible for payroll cash handling and banquet checks
  • Daily contact with the food and beverage director operations managers and other convention center employees
  • Other duties as assigned
