Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous management experience in banquet and food and beverage outlets
- Certification in TIPS/RBS and California Food Handler's certificate prior to hire
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and demanding environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to use restaurant management software
- Willingness to adhere to liquor liability laws and food safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience managing banquet operations including event coordination and staff management
- Proven experience overseeing food and beverage outlets and in-room dining
- Experience in food and beverage management including knowledge of food and wine
- Background in managing upscale hotel F&B operations with banquet focus
- Availability for flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong financial management skills including budget and labor oversight
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with Micros or other restaurant management systems is a plus
- TIPS/RBS and California Food Handler's certifications required
- Culinary training or menu design experience preferred
Job Duties
- Oversee all aspects of banquet function execution, ensuring flawless service delivery and guest satisfaction
- Ensure banquet and meeting spaces are set up according to specifications and assist with setups
- Directly supervise and coordinate banquet staff during events
- Supervise post-function cleanup and maintain cleanliness and organization
- Maintain high service standards for banquet functions
- Collaborate with Director of Catering and other departments for smooth event coordination
- Address guest concerns and resolve banquet-related issues promptly
- Monitor banquet equipment condition and report maintenance needs
- Oversee operations of Monte's Restaurant, Monte's Bar, and in-room dining
- Manage in-room dining services ensuring prompt and courteous service
- Lead and train staff across all food and beverage outlets
- Ensure maximum guest satisfaction by monitoring service and atmosphere
- Work with culinary team on menu quality and innovation
- Promote sales and upselling across outlets
- Coordinate communication with kitchen staff and other departments
- Manage food and beverage budgets including payroll and costs
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings across departments
- Enforce liquor liability laws and compliance with regulations
- Implement sales promotions and merchandising strategies
- Coordinate with chefs and service staff for seamless food preparation and delivery
- Provide staff with tools, training, and resources for exceptional service
- Maintain accurate payroll, reports, and closing procedures including forecasting and labor management
