Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods including entire shifts
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 10-25 pounds constantly
  • Must be able to work in fluctuating temperatures and inclement weather
  • Must be available to work flexible schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Must have prior food and beverage management experience
  • Certification in TIPS/RBS and California Food Handler's required prior to hire
  • Strong financial management and budgeting experience
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and coordinate cross-departmental operations
  • Familiarity with Micros or similar systems is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in managing banquet operations including event coordination and staff management
  • Proven experience overseeing food and beverage outlets and in-room dining
  • Prior food and beverage management experience including knowledge of food and wine
  • Experience managing upscale hotel F&B operations with banquet emphasis
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong financial management skills with experience in budgeting and labor productivity
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Micros or other restaurant management systems
  • TIPS/RBS certification and California Food Handler's certification required prior to hire
  • Background in culinary training or menu design preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of banquet function management ensuring flawless service delivery
  • Coordinate banquet and meeting space setups according to specifications
  • Supervise and direct banquet staff during events ensuring top-notch food and beverage service
  • Manage post-event clearing, cleanup, and reporting including banquet checks and daily summaries
  • Maintain adherence to established service standards for banquet functions
  • Collaborate with catering, conference services, and F&B teams to ensure seamless event execution
  • Address guest concerns and resolve banquet-related issues promptly
  • Monitor banquet equipment condition and coordinate repairs
  • Oversee operations of Monte's Restaurant, Monte's Bar, and other food and beverage outlets
  • Manage in-room dining services ensuring prompt and courteous delivery
  • Lead and train staff across all food and beverage outlets including in-room dining
  • Ensure maximum guest satisfaction by monitoring service and atmosphere
  • Work with culinary team to review menu offerings for quality and innovation
  • Promote sales and upselling techniques across all outlets
  • Communicate with kitchen staff, servers, and other departments to maintain smooth service operations
  • Ensure all outlets operate within budgeted food, beverage, and payroll expenses
  • Manage, train, and develop team members maintaining high standards of service
  • Oversee food and beverage budget adherence across outlets and events
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings with staff
  • Enforce liquor liability laws and regulatory compliance
  • Promote sales and merchandising strategies
  • Coordinate with chefs and service staff for seamless food preparation and delivery
  • Ensure staff have tools, training, and resources for exceptional service
  • Maintain accurate payroll, reporting, and labor management records
