Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in food and beverage management in luxury or hospitality environments
  • Proven ability to lead teams, train staff, enforce standards, and manage performance
  • Strong orientation towards guest service and high-quality hospitality
  • Financial literacy to manage budgets, cost controls, inventory, and labor metrics
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations including dining and bar service
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Flexibility for nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules
  • High professional standards and attention to detail
  • Certifications including ServSafe and TIPS/Alco
  • Familiarity with POS, reservations, and inventory systems
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work both front and back of house
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
  • Willingness to work aboard train and in various locations including offices and kitchen-commissary

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in food and beverage management in a luxury or hospitality environment such as a restaurant, hotel, resort, or high-end service concept
  • Proven leadership skills including team management, staff training, performance evaluation, and talent recognition
  • Strong guest service orientation with a focus on delivering high-quality hospitality experiences
  • Financial acumen with the ability to understand budgets, cost controls, inventory, and labor metrics
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations including dining service, bar service, beverage programs, and menu planning
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • High professional standards and strong attention to detail
  • Certifications such as ServSafe and TIPS/Alco for beverage service
  • Familiarity with POS systems, reservations, event management, and inventory software
  • Preferred experience in Napa Valley or wine country hospitality and strong wine knowledge
  • Experience in event or charter operations or mobile service venues such as onboard trains or destination dining
  • Formal hospitality, food and beverage, or business degree or certification

Job Duties

  • Lead daily operations of all food and beverage outlets associated with the Wine Train
  • Train, schedule, and develop food and beverage staff
  • Ensure exceptional guest service and adherence to brand hospitality standards
  • Manage budgets, cost controls, inventory, and labor metrics
  • Oversee beverage programs including wine, spirits, and cocktails
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless guest experiences
  • Enforce high standards of quality and safety across service areas
